I have had those a few times I normally save game log out and log back in to the sim or ignore them

A few trains stopped dead when it happened though, even though it said they were moving via F2, there wern't

I tried the snapshot again this morning, and the error seems to be happen as soon as 1H31 finishes joining.

Maybe your not aloud to set a route for a train while its joining. Occasionally if your joining you'll have a red, yellow or double yellow. just depends what type of signaler is on.

Whether a train is joining or not has no bearing on whether you are allowed to set a route or not.

Richard, I could not get the snapshot to produce the message. I have seen this error message elsewhere and I believe it could be a result of too many "windows" open at the one time. I notice you have a big clock in the background. Try running the snapshot with the minimum number of windows and other programs required to be open and see if the message occurs. That clock is just a desktop gadget. IIRC, I played sims with ten Chrome windows (not simply tabs), a few Windows Explorer windows and Eclipse opened at a time but never saw this error message. A bit searching on Google seems that most people encountered this problem when writing Delphi programs (and SimSig is written in Delphi). Usually some code just set disabled or hid a control and then try to call SetFocus on it will cause this exception, so there may be a few buggy lines of code in SimSig that is doing that. (Or just blame Delphi, because it could just silently ignore the call to SetFocus if the control is hidden or disabled instead of telling Windows to set focus and causing an error which make Delphi throws an exception.) Anyway, according to a reply by Hpotter of the post linked by vontrapp, it should already be fixed in the core code and should not happen again in future release (let's say not long from now), I guess. _ _ _ _，_ _ _ _！ (censored by the Hong Kong national security law) Log in to reply |

If a second train has been signalled into a platform, and it's had time to come to a stand, the interlocking can't possibly know whether it's joining what's already in there or merely sharing a platform with it. There's nothing, then, to stop the platform starter (in both directions if you want) showing a proceed aspect - whether that's Y, YY or G depends on the state of subsequent signals and has very little to do with the Signalman's mood! Obviously Huddersfield Control might apply if the second train is still in the process of being signalled in, but that doesn't sound like what's going on here. I'm guessing and hoping you're not referring to the signal in rear of the platform clearing for the second train - which, under those circumstances, certainly shouldn't clear to a yellow! I forget the actual cause but simply something to do with Delphi trying to activate a window that wasn't visible. Nothing to do with the number of windows open. If the sim is still running quite happily then you can ignore the warning.
