I'm sure this has been done to death in the past, but this really tickled me:

Maybe a stowaway from a service yesterday evening?

On day 2 of the KX 4-day timetable, I got what may be a record long toilet break: call received at 34:47, expected departure 36:05, that's nearly an hour and 20 minutes! I think the driver should lay off the curries for a bit...

Just had an interesting one on Pboro, ECS from carriage sdgs to N DF Rev. 15 min delay due to assistance being given to passenger. Hopefully not after being over-carried from previous night's service.
Mal.

Don,t laugh, it could happen! We had some ex Gatwick express coaches stored in March Up Yard (for the so called Bramley Line) and we found a load of East Europeans using them as unoffcial lodgings. So whist it seems stange it is possible.

The funniest delay I have seen was on an Amtrak delay report stating that a train was delayed for 12 minutes so that a troop of Boy Scouts could get off at some rural station in Kentucky.

I am not sure what the term for this is, but on Amtrak's Harrisburg line, which still is partly controlled by interlocking towers, the train crews and block operators have a special form of delay that is used to cover up for either signaling mistakes or train handling mistakes. The Exton, PA station had a "mini-high" platform for disabled passengers and if such a passenger needs to use this platform it takes extra time to spot the train and deploy a metal plate to bridge the gap between the train and the platform. This process can cause a delay so if either the crew or a signaler screws to they will agree on the radio that there was an X minute delay due to a "Handicapped At Exton", thus preventing any points being deducted from their scores.

A train leaving Wimbledon depot the other day and reversing at the shunt signal (can't remember the number) claimed to be delayed due to Disruptive passengers! Or the 455s delayed at Berrylands by a dodgy food trolley...

The message is "Unusually Large Passenger Flow" - it just doesn't fit on the NTI all at once.

Is that a flow of Unusually Large Passengers or a Unusually Large flow of Passengers?

There was a 'trains delayed due to inflatable hamburger on the line', Newport South Wales on a windy day. There's a Burger King across the road.

During the 1987 hurricane, the Liverpool Street Control log included the lines 'Cockle sheds on the line at Leigh on Sea', then an hour or so later, 'Boats on the line at Leigh on Sea'.

On Exeter sim, Train comes out of Exeter West Yard to South reversal point to Exeter St. Davids p6. Phone rings while it's at the reversal point "Train delayed to do driver needing a toilet break". Raises the question of why didn't they go before they got in the train or wait until they got to Exeter St Davids! Blooming drivers.

Perhaps he hadn't got to the third hour of his shift?
