Hello all,
I was wondering whether its possible to have the AI/computer control certain signal boxes? Seeing as I play at irregular times and that the maps are usually too large and complex for one person to handle, would it be possible to get the computer to control the other boxes? Maybe even add some random delays or occurrences to simulate humans controlling?

Certain of the sims have Automatic Route Setting (ARS), which does exactly what you describe. Peterborough in particular works very well letting ARS control most of the straight-line automatic-block territory, and only manually working the section around the Peterborough station proper.

(The paid Edinborough sim has ARS too...with ARS turned on running everything, it's extremely difficult as a single-player sim.)

What about sims without ARS? Any way to get those signal boxes to play trains? I'm specifically thinking about te westbury sim.

Thanks

Sims or sections without ARS must be run manually.

The only other way to tackle a large sim is to run or join a multi-player game. It can be more fun than running a sim by oneself.

You could always host one. As SimSig is a world wide community you ofter find people about at silly times of the day & night that may be willing to join
