Hi gang,

I'm having some issues getting on shunt / call-on signal releasing at Brighton station, more specifically signal 435 into Brighton platform 4 (already occupied).

I've not come across this before in other sims, is there something simulation-specific going on? Or am I missing something obvious?

There's nothing simulation specific that I'm aware of.

I've just tested this with the latest version of Brighton and got a call-on from 435 into p.4 without a problem.

When Brighton was first released (V2.227.5) there was a bug with call-ons not clearing, but this was fixed long ago.

How many coaches did you have in p.4 when you tried to call a train in on top?

To add to John's answer, either the London end track circuit in platform 4 has to be empty, or the track behind the berth track for signal 435 empty. In logic and identity terms, it's -TBMJ or -TBHR where the negation means "not occupied". There are also two routes into platform 4, plus main and call-on variants of each: one pair via P1860 reverse, the other via PP1869 reverse.

Both routes are allowing call-ons for me.

Thanks for the replies fellas.

It's true that the London end of the platform was not clear. In the end I got the signal to clear with the following somewhat non-standard approach:
- by asking the train in the platform to abandon timetable
- this train then proceeded to the London end of platform 4 (it was short enough to clear the buffer stop end at the point)
- then I asked the train to reverse. This meant that it proceeded back to the buffer stop end
- I called on the other train; the call on signal cleared
- I actually had to get the buffer stop end train to reverse again in order for the join to happen.

So problem solved - I'm just not sure how I managed to have a train sat in the middle of the platform in the first place!

You can get the train to move within the platform without abandoning the timetable by using the reverse and shunt forward commands in F2.

That appears to be a TT error. The stopping position in the timetable for that train needs to be corrected.
