I currently have SimSig installed on my main PC at home but I've brought myself a laptop to which end I like to be able to play SimSig while travelling - Is it permitted for me thus to download the releases that I have paid for onto my laptop or do I have to remove the sims from the PC to reinstall them onto the laptop?

I just want to make sure that it's okay to do so if it is hence the question, any help would be appreciated.

It's the Licence that you purchase, rather than the actual simulations, but the Licence can only be allocated to one PC at any time..

You can have the simulations loaded onto both PCs, but you can only run them on 1 PC at any time. You have to un-allocate the Licence from the current PC before re-allocating it to the other machine, and vice versa.

If you intend to run sims from the newer laptop only, simply download and install the sim to the new laptop, and transfer the licence to it.

See also WIKI License Manager for more details.

I can only help one person a day. Today's not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look too good either.

However much I like SimSig, I still prefer playing a flight simulator following the actual route

I'm a terrible pilot on FSX, I'm more used to SimSig not that I'm that bad in real life flying

Additional question: In multiplayer mode, do all players need a separate paid license, or does the host's licence 'serve' the clients?

I would have thought everyone would need the license otherwise you wouldn't be able to load up the simulation after the demo time has elapsed

Everyone needs a license who is involved in the multiplayer game.

When you're regularly using more than one device to play Simsig I've found it's useful to get into the habit of leaving your licences unallocated. When you want to play, allocate the licence(s) to the device you're using, then leave the Licence Manager running in the background while you start the simulation so it's there as a reminder when you finish to remove the licences again. That way you're never stuck with the licence allocated to one place while you're in another.

That said, remember that you need to be online to allocate a licence. If you're going to be offline, make sure you do it beforehand!
