I have noticed when watching the live data from Network Rail that sometimes a London train will step from 111 to 313 when the train enters the platform. Is this due to the front of the train passing beyond W111 and reaching the track circuit in advance and so resulting in the step to 313 or is there some other reason for this?

I would imagine the train has pulled past the signal. Do we know where the stopping point for an HST is at Westbury?

TD steps do not normally occur until a train has passed a signal unless the Signalman does it manually, which seems unlikely.

EDIT: Could it be a bug in the software?

In order to fully accommodate a full HST set at Westbury it will need to run past 111, sometimes when arriving at Westbury the guard's announcement will include a part explaining that if the signal isn't clear, not all of the doors will be able to be unlocked.

I'd love to see the Westbury map, seen them all on Open Train Times but none cover my local area yet.

As for the doors at Westbury, are you sure? Been a long time since I actually went 'spotting' there, I seem to recall that only the TGS door wouldn't open if the HST had not passed the signal, and therefore people can't get the bikes off. Might be wrong though...

I've definitely heard announcements regarding doors not being platformed before arriving there. May have been just about cycle storage I suppose though, or you're remembering the days when a lot of services were 7 coaches not 8?
