Hello,

Just bought the new Motherwell sim. Really liking the look of it, with lots of potential for different scenarios and timetables.

I have 1S26 sat in platform 1 refusing to divide into the portions.

Can anyone help?

It is over-length for the platform so the stopping position in the TT is set at Far End Exact plus a bit. While the train is at the platform starter it is at Far End Exact but hasn't achieved the "plus a bit" so F2 is probably still showing Carstairs S Jn as it hasn't arrived at Carstairs as far as the TT is concerned. Like John says, it needs to be signalled to the next signal.

Yes it needs to stop far enough forward to allow the Edinburgh loco to attach. TT says stop is "near end +24m".

Just a quick warning - from my experience:

Once you've succesfully divided your train, the rear portion forms 1B26 0645 to Edinburgh portion.

You may want to check that MC426 signal (Carstairs East Jn) is held at red until you're sure nothing is coming off Midcalder Up and routed via the curve - or you'll end up with a Mexican stand off with two trains facing each other!

Can't remember what the offending freight train was - I had to manually route it into Carstairs US to get it out of the way - it went into a black hole and never reappeared!

Hope you enjoy this sim as much as I am doing.

1S26 has 20' allowance built in between Abington and Carstairs so will approach Carstairs very early.

6S62 from Midcalder must pass through Carstairs first as booked, or it will be Sombreros on the single line!

In the WTT both sleeper portions are set-down only at Carstairs which is reflected in the sim TT. The Glasgow portion is also set-down only at Motherwell so if it runs early you shouldn't have to worry about blocking Motherwell off. On that basis, both portions should clear the platform as soon as the relevant splits/joins have taken place. If everything is running to plan and the sleepers do set off asap, the Edinburgh portion just gets clear of the single track before 6S62 is held.

Also, apologies for the misinformation about the stopping position; I got the principle right but my memory let me down about the detail.

Thanks John & Postal.

Yes it was 6S62 that had that stand off! Will hold it back in future - unless I can get Edinburgh portion away in good time!

There have been times I have travelled on 1S26 where it has been looped at Abington, and there have been afew times we have followed the Lanark Stopper to Glasgow.
