Can any you help with a problem I am having using convdata. I am able to succesfully convert to SimSig ttimetable file but when I check there is a error message that the timetable data is invalid? Problem seems to be with the PTH and LIN codes. See below which is an example of the info. I have tried just putting S for slow etc nut this does not work either. Any advice or help much appreciated. Please note that the entry point is taken from the origanal timetable as the TIPLOC codes on the wiki do not work.

DownBrainTree DTT=T;
DES=' 321[8] $@$ Braintree to London Liverpool Street';
TYP=EMU3; UTT=2;
ENP=BMAIN;
(BTHNLGR DEP=%EN+2; PAS=T; PTH=ML; LIN=ML)
(LIVST ARR=%D1+3; PLT=$P$; PTH=ML; ACT=N:$N$).
1F09 CTT=DownBrainTree; ENT=07:39; $@$= 0640; $P$=8; $N$=1K16.
1F17 CTT=DownBrainTree; ENT=08:24H; $@$= 0726; $P$=12; $N$=5H10.

Why do you think it's the path and line codes? When you load the timetable into the sim, is it saying invalid data at that point, or is it refusing to validate the timetables, or what? What exactly happens at each stage?

When I convert and then run the analyse tool it states that the timetable is invalid. As there was nothing sticking out as wrong I ran the validate tool. This gives me the error message that a path was not found from Entrance vie location Bethnal Green. It then lists the alternatives. Either by ML or S. Selecting one then shows the select plt/lin/pth codes. Selecting the same codes as I had already input on the text doc and converted and saving, removes the train from the list of trains with invalid data, [ that is how I narrowed it down]. Now I could write the whole tt in text and convert then go through every train to check that it is validated, if required I may do this. Problem is that as I am writing the text document and then converting, it over rides the tt data already on the sim sig version of the timetable, meaning of course that it over writes the data I have already altered as I go along. I did try using the Tiploc codes on the manual but found that they did not convert over, so have been using the old Tiploc codes as these do work. Ps the convdata tool is easier to use than writing the timetable using the inbuilt editor, [ this is my 2 or 3 attempt to write a tt for LLSt]. Only problem I have found it that with joins divides it is easier to write that trains tt than use the ctt or dtt description. Any ideas on what the problem may be?

Think I have got to the bottom of the issue. It looks like it is the line code's. I was entering SL, for the slow lines but instead should have entered just S. For the Main line code , ML works but not M on its own. Not tried the Electric lines yet but the above does resolve the issue, when the analyse tool is used to check, as it removes the offending trains that were flagging as having invalid data.
Checked and the electric lines need the code EL but does not except E. So it is just the slow lines that will only except S but not SL.

Are you still progressing with this as I am currently writing a Dec 2013 Mon-Fri timetable for Liverpool Street but it's a slow process? I am checking each train because some of the peak services follow slightly different routes from the norm into and out of the station.

Assuming you installed the Sim to the default folders the timetables should be found in a folder Smsig>Timetables>LivSt. Check there's such a folder and that the default timetables are in there.

Alternatively search for "LivSt".

If so then you should pick them up when you launch the Sim as step 2.

Assuming that you downloaded the sim via the Check for Updates feature initially and not via the SimSig website, a number of sims do not come with a timetable from this method. Suspect its from before sims were installed via Check for Updates.

In this case, download the sim via Downloads, Official Software, and find Liverpool St. Then run check for updates. That should cover it.
