Now that i've sussed port forwarding, time to dig deeper...

Chaining PBO and CBG with the October 2009 (0445 start) timetable. I cant seem to get people connecting to one of them. People can connect externally through the master sim but not the slave sim, e.g. can connect to CBG put not PBO and vice versa. The error message that comes up when people try to connect is 'Youre running a different version of this sim'. Ive got one on port 50505,and the other 50507, connecting tow two together with IP 127.0.0.1. Is there something I've missed?

Are people ensuring they are connecting to Cambridge with Cambridge, and the same for Peterborough?

Server (you) and the clients should check which version of the simulations they are running. It's reporting that you're running different versions.

Also make sure that the clients connect to the right port. It won't work if a client running Cambridge tries to connect to Peterborough.

Reason: Not on loader yet

Also make sure that the clients connect to the right port. V4.0.28 of the loader now reports which simulations and the version numbers are trying to connect. It won't work if a client running Cambridge tries to connect to Peterborough.
Aren't Peterborough and Cambridge both .exe?

Each sim will need its own port forward rule for them both to be accessible by clients outside your network simultaneously. One will forward data to the Primary port sim, the other forwards data tot he secondary sim. You probably want to forward like for like ports aka 50505 external to 50505 internal and 50507 external to 50507 internal.

Clients will then need to connect to the correct port based on which sim they want to play.

Lastly, clients will need to use the same version sims as you are in order for this all to work.

Thanks all for the posts.

Adding an extra port forward had got it working! Thanks for this fix Lardybiker
