Wow. I can't wait until Derby is done! It's the center of quite the chaining monster!

Plus the link from Derby to Sheffield via Clay Cross Jn.

Don't forget that when saltley is refreshed to the newest chaining code it will link to new street, derby and Gloucester; & by extension onto the entire western chaining area aswell.

clay cross junction is controlled by trent so there is no direct route from derby sim to sheffield sim. Though the diagram perhaps would be more acurate with three routes between trent and derby seeing as it has two from saltley to new street

Don't forget that Gloucester also requires a refresh in order to allow it to chain with Saltley.

And if we are lucky enough to see Walsall added to the West Midlands set then there will be alternative routes for Wolves & New Street & possibly Stafford if the link to Rugeley was included.

Should Nuneaton (and the link via Hawkesbury Lane) ever appear that'll give a link from Stafford (which should be a long thin vertical box squeezing between Aston/Saltley and Derby) to Coventry; a possible Rugby (1965 layout... pretty please) would then chain to Coventry and Nuneaton.

That's one I'd like to do but I need a really good set of detailed panel photos - I have been sent a few but not enough. Anyone know anyone with some please let me know.

If/when Derby, Gloucester and Saltley are done, I wonder how many people we can get together?

It would actually be great to get everyone in the same room. SimSig LAN party anyone?

Can't do that but would almost certainly join a freeware if it were up!

There's also Leicester, which, as far as I've gathered would link to Peterborough and then subsequently Cambridge and King's Cross, and of course to Victoria via West Hampstead, and then one day possibly all the way to Brighton.
Two million people attempt to use Birmingham's magnificent rail network every year, with just over a million of them managing to get further than Smethwick.

It's called a Meet and we have them three times a year. The next one is in London on 19th. July. More details will appear in the Forthcoming Events section and on the Wiki in due course.

That's what I keep saying But I think we shouldn't shout too loud... just give it time, the takeover is proceeding quite nicely

I did wonder why something called 'Remote Interlocking TDM Driver' installed itself on the last Loader update...

Throwing Crewe into this too. Would depend in part on simulating Stoke too but certainly then you would link NWC to the rest of the chain via Stafford. Further up the coast, simulating Preston should hopefully provide a link to the east coast of Scotland via Carlisle and Motherwell!

e: forgot about Chester. But you get the picture..

Preston would be a great simulation (as well as my nearest box!), but you'd need Warrington and Winsford as well to link to a Crewe area sim.

PMSL...We strive for realism here at SimSig as you know.....

In a similar vain, and I can't speak for the rest of you but I've certainly had some very funny looks and several questions from folks when traveling by train in the UK and have a been playing SimSig to pass the time. A few turn out to actually know of SimSig and one or two have actually played it!!!

I have actually had someone ask me "Are you signalling our train?"....just goes to show how real SimSig appears to be to some folks!!!

On a similar theme, passing Helsby box, lady says to friend "Ooh, that's pretty. I suppose it's authentic?" Well, the bloke in there just pulled off for our train...

So caught up in signalling acronyms I forgot others existed...

By the way, what's happened to the facepalm smiley?

Not sure - a couple disappeared on the last forum upgrade. Maybe they'll return one day if I do another update :S .
