Just started my computer and found the loader is missing from my start menu (Windows 7). Can't find anything obvious in the directory where the loader sims are located.

Any help (in non technical terms) would be very much appreciated...

Yes, did think of using the search function but wasn't sure what the file I needed was called. Have instead re-installed the system files which has solved the issue. All licences, sims etc still in place and everything now working just like normal.

Norton Internet Security has a nasty habit of removing the loader. If anyone needs help to get around this, send me a PM.

Remove Norton? Symantec admitted this week that anti-virus software is dead and theirs was far from the best.

Seriously? That sounds a bit like Pope Francis coming out and saying the whole god thing's a bit weak really.

Had the same thing happen with Norton myself. Wouldn't let me install Simsig, among other established software. Got rid of it.

You can configure Norton to "ignore" the SimSig loader, rather than waiting a year to use your favourite signalling simulation.

That's a little bit of a miss quote! Though not helpless by a lot of the initial media reports, the quote about it being dead was aimed firmly at the software they publish to protect corporate systems, not domestic ones.
