Hi,

Just wondering but have the sims for Cowlairs, Central Scotland, NorthEast Scotland and, indeed, Edinburgh been recently re-released as Loader version (.sim) files as with Motherwell? If so I know I have them out of date.

I don't want to end up purchasing sims I already have the latest updates for but I still have these sims in .exe files with the following versions:

- Cowlairs: v3.238.2
- Central Scotland: v3.238.3
- North East Scotland: v3.238.3
- Edinburgh: v3.238.2

All the files I have for these sims are, however, dated 2011 when I check their properties. Also I note RTT using a timing point of "Charing Cross (Glasgow)" either before or after Glasgow Queen Street. This would be useful to have for a TT I plan on working on.

Thanks.
Dave

Surely Charing Cross is quite a way outside the sim area? The nearest location in the sim is the entry/exit at Bellgrove Jn, but that's several stations away.

Dave,
Looking at the versions available for download as shown on each of the simulations documentation in the Wiki's you have the correct versions for all apart from North East Scotland which is shown as v3.238.2. You are saying you have version v3.238.3 which to me indicates you have a later version than is available. It could be that the Wiki is not updated yet or some other reason as to why you have a conflict.
I must admit I do find it very confusing sometimes, that you can look in one place on the Wiki or forum and it says one thing, but look in another and it is different. I do worry that the amount of information that is in the Wiki's especially, needs constant updating in so many places that inevitably you get conflicts on the same thing. This can only get more difficult when we get requests from certain persons to add yet more information to them leading, to information overload.

Geoff.

Charing Cross is on the Low-level line and under the control of Yoker. As for version numbers it is possible that something has got out of sync. Either way the latest version is that which you can download whatever number that is.

Ah. Interesting then that RTT maintains the time between Charing Cross (Glasgow) and Glasgow Queen Street to be only 1 minute as shown here:

its on the low level (suburban line). platforms 8 and 9 are the underground platforms (low level). the simulated Queen street is the high level Station. As peter has said, this is controlled by Yoker and doesn't appear on Cowlairs' "radar" until Bellgrove Jcn.

If you have a look at the Network Rail schematic for Glasgow and Edinburgh passenger services, it will probably help you get the geography sorted out (and it is a good help in working out how Peter's sims in the central belt link together).
