Hi all, can't see if this has come up before so here goes.
While I don't tend to worry too much about the Performance Analysis, one thing has me curious.
I'm currently running Wolverhampton 2014 Version v1.1 TT with large delays on. Occasionally I get pushed for platform space due to late running and to try to save minutes I replatform where possible.
The platforming categories are - Correct, Incorrect and Opposite.
I always obviously try for the correct platform, but wonder what is the difference between 'Opposite' and Incorrect'. I'm thinking mainly of, for instance, P2 and P3 which are the island ones. Of course, if the required one was P4 and I used P3 that would be incorrect. But if the booked one is P2 and I used P3 would that count as opposite or incorrect?
This is just a general query and not a 'nit-pick.'
I enjoy running the sims purely for enjoyment and try not to get bogged down in the technicalities, but this question is really just to satisfy my old brain's curiosity.
Hope I've explained this ok. Many thanks for any comments.
Mal.

'Opposite' is where the train arrives on the other side of an island (e.g. Platform 2 instead of 3), 'Incorrect' is where the train is on a completely different platform- so 2 instead of 1, for example.

Intention is a lesser penalty for an opposite platform as passengers just walk over, rather than via footbridge/subway which takes longer and is more disruptive.

Thanks for the comments guys. Reading your posts puts it better in my mind, that's the way I think I had it figured. Sorry if it sounded like a silly question. Since I took semi-retirement I seem to have time on my hands for little things like this, lol.

There is no such thing as a silly question!
People need to be open about asking these sorts of things
