How do I transfer a save file from one computer to another when the save is from a loader sim because as far as i can tell they are hidden in the folder? I understand how to do the older sim saves.

EDIT - Is it possible to use a save file from the old style sims on a loader sim for example a save file from NWC old sim to the loader NWC? Hope that makes sense

If you've installed and saved to the default locations, saved games should be located (and visible) in Public Documents\SimSig\Simulations\[Simulation Name].

No.

The Loader will attempt to load a saved game made on earlier version(s) of the Loader simulation, but it can't load one made on the .exe version.

For loader sims, the save game is saved in the simulation folder (generally located in your public documents folder. eg my KX save games are in C:\Users\Public\Documents\SimSig\Simulations\KingsX) You need to copy the SSG from here, and paste it across to where you want to load it from on your second computer.

It may be possible to use a save file yes, however they may not be fully compatible if there is changes to how the sim works (eg changes in location data). The only real way to check is to try, however be prepared for the old save game to not work.

Where are you saving games to, and where is the Loader looking for saves? They might not be in the same place as the simulations.

if your loader sims are located here, look for a folder called simulations, then choose the sim folder and your save game should be in there

When you save a game, can you confirm that Program Files\SimSig is definitely where you're saving to? Have you given yourself write permissions to that location? If you haven't it creates a dummy file where you think you've saved it and actually saves it elsewhere. That's all I can think of at the moment.

It looks like you haven't given yourself Write privileges for that folder. Return to the SimSig folder, right click the 'Simulations' folder, click properties and go to the 'Security' tab. Highlight your username, click 'Edit' and tick the 'Write' box.

Usual disclaimer, you do this at your own risk.
