Can anyone confirm if Control to Diver messages on LUL (Vic line) are recorded and if so for how long are messages retained? Or indeed Control to Platform messages

All messages both radio and telephone to controllers and signallers on the Victoria Line are recorded.
Radio messages between station staff (ie from 1 station staff member to another) are not.
Not sure how long they are kept for-pehaps Metcontrol could tell us?

Messages between station staff and station staff are recorded, on auto phones and on Connect radio, and within a couple of hours the transcript of the conversation can be made available. I would assume the recording is kept for fourteen days as i was told that when i last asked my duty manager for one.

Thanks, I'll go back and make the observation that they should have records of what the staff were instructed to say to us passengers.

Your Duty Manager is wrong, the only radio recording equipment is located in the control units.
The Station dispatcher terminals carry no facility to record.
These same terminals are also located in Train Crew depots as well but they are almost never used for broadcast just monitoring.
The bit about recordings being kept for 14 days sounds about right though.

Oh, so the exactly correct transcript of me (a station supervisor) talking with a CSA last month, that i saw was completely made up? Funny how it was spot on though?! And yes we have a dispatcher unit where i work, as well as a separate fixed base unit.

What I want to establish is if there is a record that will show that Control (or whomever) issued an instruction to drivers and to stations announcers that trains were not stopping at Kings Cross and passengers should get of at Euston and walk (as we were instructed). Delay-repay people don't seem to deny there was an "incident" but do deny that trains did not stop therefore as the train was not delayed, nether could have I. While it's an argument over £2.50 (or thereabouts) it's now become a matter of principle.

Oh dear, so not exactly replying to a general query, but to a complaint, but here goes.

Any call to/from the Line Control Room would be recorded, whether that was via radio or telephone. The recordings are normally kept on site at the control building for up to 28 days for telephone, and for Radio they are kept elsehwere on the combine for around the same amount of time.

However, when a station closes, this generally takes the form of: Station advises control, Control advises all Trains via a "General" call over the radio. Stations either side of the closure then go on to position staff to advise trains before their departure, and also put out PA messages where possible. So in effect, there is more than one person who is immediately aware that a station has closed.

Moving on to the "delay" I would pursue this. Give as many details as you can as the last and first trains to stop would all be logged. Was the incident something like over-crowding where the closure was short-lived and maybe not made as public as other longer term closures (i.e. they wanted a couple of trains non-stopped to ease congestion).

Let me know how you go, and if you want to PM me the day etc. I can look through other means as to how it was logged.
