i am thinking of attempting to write this tt as two seperate tts. i have no idea how to do it. would someone be willing to help or is someone already writing this. i have no expericence of writing tts. rodney30 Log in to reply |

First off, have a read of this Wiki page, which explains how to use the timetable editor. Next, you need to source timetable information. Real Time Trains and Open Train Times are good for this, but be aware that RTT deletes the schedules a week after the date in question and OTT will have forgotten STP and VAR schedules by the next day. Network Rail have published the WTT online, but it's format is less user-friendly than the above websites. Another major consideration is rolling stock, and rolling stock diagrams. This depends on how accurate you want the timetable to be (you could, for example, just create generic "2 car 90mph EMU" trains), but you may find it difficult to get everything to balance (i.e. you know what splits/joins to form what) without the proper information. You may be able to find diagrams on the internet, or others on here might be able to provide them. Hope this gives you an overview, feel free to ask about anything else. A word of warning though- a busy London terminus (with ARS to consider) might be a bit much for your first go at TT writing- I'd recommend starting with something smaller. i have so far inputed 352 trains into a test tt which i have run upto 6am there are a few issues but i only have guessed the train formations and platfroms are from rtt. i haven't put in gtr or london overground yet but i am hoping someone can see what i have done and assist me. i will try to do what the wiki page says. rodney30 Log in to reply |
