Some of you may be interested in this nostalgic series. I remember watching them when I was a small boy in 1988 and a recent search discovered that six episodes of "The Train Now Departing" have been uploaded by the BBC to the iplayer (link below)

1. The Long Drag - About the prospect of the Settle - Carlisle line closure
2. The West Highlander - Fort William to Mallaig and a bit about the radio signalling
3. The Holiday Line - Down to Exmouth
4. Steam on The Isle Of Mann - IoM's narrow gauge railway
5. Lines Of Industry - Old industrial lines and loco being restored
6. The Survivors - Preserved Railways
