Evening all,

Thought it might be of inerest that OTT (OpenTrainTimes) is showing that some trains to / from London Waterloo will serve Yeovil Pen Mill from December 2015. Only the Mondays to Fridays list is available at the moment but I reckon that trains may follow for Saturdays and, possibly, Sundays before the TT change comes in.

The list for Mondays to Fridays seems, for the moment at least anyway, to be:

1L35 1250 WAT - YVP 1535 (c/a WSB, FRM, BRU & CLC) (N: 1L58)
1L58 1545 YVP - WAT 1821 (c/a YVJ, then direct to SBY calling all stations)
1L39 1350 WAT - YVP 1623 (c/a SBY, then all stations to YVJ, then via. spur to YVP) (N: 2V14)
2V14 1630 YVP - YVJ 1636 (N: 1O64 at YVJ)
1O64 1648 YVJ - SBY 1817 (c/a YVP, CLC, BRU, FRM, WSB & WMN) (J: 1L64 1624 EXD - WAT at SBY)
1L47 1550 WAT - YVP 1827 (c/a SBY, then all stations to YVJ, then via. spur to YVP) (N: 2V18)
2V18 1833 YVP - YVJ 1838 (N: 5V18 ECS 1845 YVJ - SBY direct)
1L51 1650 WAT - WSB 2005 (c/a SBY, then all stations to YVJ, then YVP, CLC, BRU, FRM) (N: 1O52)
1L55 1750 WAT - WSB 2119 (c/a SBY, then all stations to YVJ, then YVP, CLC, BRU, FRM) (N: 1O56)
1L59 1850 WAT - YVP 2123 (c/a SBY, then all stations to YVJ, then via. spur to YVP) (N: 2V30)
2V30 2130 YVP - YVJ 2135 (N: 5V30 ECS 2147 YVJ - SBY direct)

This will, in turn, lead to 2 extra services Westbury to Salisbury:
1O52 2011 WSB - SBY
1O56 2124 WSB - SBY

Station codes (for anyone not already aware): BRU: Bruton | CLC; Castle Cary | FRM: Frome | SBY: Salisbury | WAT: London Waterloo WSB: Westbury | WMN: Warminster | YVP: Yeovil PM | YVJ: Yeovil Jcn

Other abbreviations: c/a: Calling at. (N & J as per SimSig).

So regular services will, it seems, be restored over the Yeovil Pen Mill to Yeovil Junction spur.

HTIOI,
Dave

Yeah, I saw the track access applications, they were doing the rounds on certain forums (possibly these ones, possibly not) a few months back.

I believe there are plans for Summer Saturday or Sunday (I don't recall which) trains to Weymouth via Pen Mill. Sounds excellent!

It would appear they are making a empty coaching stock from Yeovil to Salisbury Depot? a passenger service instead.

SWT have a few ECS paths Yeovil- Westbury for route knowledge purposes, that is one of them. There are no regular SWT passenger trains via Castle Cary, as far as I'm aware, or via the Yeovil chord.

If you read Dave's post and compare it to the current TT, you'll find it's far more than that...

And there will end up being a lot more too. It doesn't appear that the Morning Trains have been put in yet.

From the Proposal document

On the West of England:

Weekdays

  • 06:28 Yeovil Pen Mill to Yeovil Junction

  • 06:42 Yeovil Junction to Waterloo via Yeovil Pen Mill, Frome and Westbury

  • 10:20 Waterloo to Exeter St Davids and Yeovil Junction (the rear unit of the existing Exeter train splits at Salisbury and continues via Westbury, Frome and Yeovil Pen Mill to Yeovil Junction (makes the 14:51 Exeter Service)

  • 12:50 Waterloo to Yeovil Pen Mill via Westbury and Frome (this will be an extension of a Salisbury service, and forms the 15:50 Waterloo)

  • 13:50 Waterloo to Yeovil Pen Mill via Gillingham and Yeovil Junction (Extension of the 13:50 Waterloo to Gillingham, forms the 16:30 to Yeovil Junction)

  • 14:51 Yeovil Junction to Exeter St Davids (makes the Honiton Shuttle)

  • 15:50 Yeovil Pen Mill to Waterloo via Yeovil Junction and Gillingham (extension of the 16:18 Gillingham to Waterloo)

  • 15:50 Waterloo to Veovil Pen Mill via Gillingham and Yeovil Junftion (extension of the 15:50 Waterloo to Gillingham, makes the 18:26 to Yeovil Junction)

  • 16:30 Yeovil Pen Mill to Yeovil Junction (forms the 16:55 Waterloo via Frome)

  • 16:35 Exeter to Honiton (forms 17:07 to Exeter)

  • 16:50 Waterloo to Yeovil Pen Mill via Gillingham and Yeovil Junction (this extends the existing 16:50 Waterloo to Yeovil Junction, and then returns ECS to Salisbury via Yeovil Junction and Gillingham)

  • 16:55 Yeovil Junction to Waterloo via Yeovil Pen Mill, Frome and Westbury (as a guess, I presume this extends the 17:47 Salisbury to Waterloo or it would have to join an Exeter Train, unsure which as yet until I look in more detail)

  • 17:07 Honiton to Exeter St Davids (presume this will join an existing Exeter to Waterloo

  • 17:50 Waterloo to Yeovil Pen Mill via Gillingham and Yeovil Junction (extension of 17:50 Waterloo to Yeovil Junction, forms 20:30 to Yeovil Junction)

  • 18:26 Yeovil Pen Mill to Yeovil Junction (makes an ECS to Salisbury at 18:45 via Gillingham)

  • 18:50 Waterloo to Yeovil Pen Mill via Gillingham and Yeovil Junction (extension of the 18:50 Waterloo to Salisbury, forms 21:30 ECS to Salisbury via Yeovil Junction and Gillingham)

  • 20:30 Yeovil Pen Mill to Yeovil Junction (not entirely sure where this goes after this, but I assume ECS to Salisbury via Gillingham)

All of the above are a single class 159.

Saturdays

  • 07:50 Waterloo to Weymouth via Salisbury, Yeovil Junction, Yeovil Pen Mill and Maiden Newton (Extension of 07:50 Waterloo to Salisbury)

  • 08:56 Waterloo to Wareham (formed off an up Salisbury, forms 12:15 Bournemouth)

  • 11:50 Waterloo to Weymouth via Salisbury, Yeovil Junction, Yeovil Pen Mill and Maiden Newton (Extension of 11:50 Waterloo to Salisbury)

  • 12:15 Wareham to Bournemouth (forms 14:55 Wareham)

  • 12:55 Weymouth to Waterloo via Maiden Newton, Yeovil Pen Mill, Yeovil Junction and Salisbury (not as yet sure which Salisbury service this will extend).

  • 14:55 Bournemouth to Wareham (forms 16:26 Waterloo)

  • 16:26 Wareham to Waterloo (unsure what this forms afterwards, presumably tacked onto an existing WoE service).

  • 16:55 Weymouth to Waterloo via Maiden Newton, Yeovil Pen Mill, Yeovil Junction and Salisbury (not as yet sure which Salisbury service this will extend).

All of the above are a single Class 159.

Sundays

  • 16:25 Gillingham to Waterloo (new service, formed off ECS from Salisbury TMD, forms 18:45 Salisbury)

  • 17:25 Gillingham to Waterloo (new service, formed off ECS from Salisbury TMD, forms 19:45 Salisbury)

  • 18:45 Waterloo to Salisbury (new service)

  • 19:45 Waterloo to Salisbury (new service)

The above could either be a single class 158, or 159. The paperwork was vague on this.

At some point I'll go through and work out how they all tie in, and whether all of the trains from the proposal actually made it into the Working Timetable.

The rest of the changes relate to the South Western Main Line, mostly to do with the 1T and 2B services from Portsmouth and Poole now running as seperate trains from Eastleigh on Sundays.

Sorry guys, I am in the business of making people wait!

Cheers for that. I had thought there would be a few more but couldn't find the proposal document. INteresting that SWT are expanding their links to London Waterloo although sadly I suppose it is anyone's guess what will happen considering the present situation with SWT's franchise.

In the meantime it will be good to see the Yeovil Junction - Yeovil Pen Mill spur returned to regular passenger use.

Dave
