Is there a protocol with regard to early running departures from yards etc.? I'm running one timetable on Westbury & I have a shunter call me to say that a departures is ready to leave but its 7&1/2 hours early. When I have answered his call, there is no option on the drop down menu to delay the train until the correct departure time. The only options are to ask the shunter to call back after either 2,5 & 15 minutes or allow the train to leave the yard.

Severn and a half hours??? Are you sure? I've seen them run early, but never that early! In answer to the question, it's up to you. You can either keep telling the shunter to go away until the correct departure time, or if you think there's space to run it you can let it go early. In reality, trains tend to be held to time these days (it would never be ready 7 hours early), and early running would have to be negotiated with Control and adjacent boxes/the destination terminal to make sure they have space to either accept it or hold it until it's nearer booked time. If you keep putting the shunter off until due time, will SimSig let him offer another train in the meantime (say that is due out sooner), or once it has offered the first train is it committed to releasing them in that order?

I have had 3 or 4 trains queuing to enter at Upperby with them asking for release a couple of minutes apart.
