I have been looking at RTT for the Christmas and new year services.

I have seen the GWR are running to Waterloo from the 28th December while they do crossrail works at London Paddington. These will operate as booked to Reading then rev to Basingstoke then rev to Waterloo

The lines between Bournemouth and Brockenhurst are closed from end of service 24/12/2015 till 04/01/2016. This is due to repairing or replacing to old bridges in the Christchurch area that cross the River Stour and River Avon.

Charing Cross, Waterloo East, Cannon Street and the Eastern side of London Bridge closed and they are severing the Metropolitan Rev. No more trains from Charing Cross to Cannon Street. South eastern services reduced to run to either London Victoria/ London Blackfriars or New Cross.

Apart from the Bournemouth line these could make some interesting timetables.

just to let you know some GWR trains will also be running into Marylebone too HST I am told.

Your right. The Bristol and Plymouth, Penzance services operate to Waterloo. The Swansea services operate to Marylebone

I would imagine it's all part of the next stage of the rebuilding of Lomdon Bridge works, where the Charing Cross lines slew over on to their final position on the new viaduct at borough market. So the project can then remove the former Charing Cross lines along with associated junctions to allow them to be rebuilt as the dedicated Thameslink tracks from London Blackfriars. The plans do show the chord will be retained once the work is complete.
