Splodge can you confirm a couple of things for me. In the 'F4' of the version of the timetable you are currently using whats the total number of trains shown in it & under the rules tab how many rules are there listed & finally how many 'decisions' are there in the 'decisions' tab?

Total Number of Trains: 908
Rules: 223
Decisions: 12

There's the right way, the wrong way and the railway.

Right thanks for that, for a moment I thought I'd uploaded an earlier version of the timetable. Right I've found the issue regarding 6V52. If you look at 6V52 with the Cl.47 loco on it in the decisions part of the window it should read:- 'OIL TRACTION' in the 1st line & '47' in the 2nd line marked 'choice'. That is missing fronm the 6V52 timetable sata for the train to be worked by a Cl.60. So in the field marked decision enter OIL TRACTION & in the field marked choice enter 60.
With regards to your earlier issue with 6M62 appearing twice because there is already a DOTW decision entered you have to add in an alternatives rule in the rules tab. So select 'NEW' & in the 1st box put $6M62FO then in the field under that select the are alternatives (which is the bottom category in the drop down menu) & then in the field marked Train or $UID Y enter $6M62FOA. Press OK & re-save the timetable file, personally I've called it V1.1DEC. See if that resolves the issues you've raised.

Is the carriage washer road just an in and out i.e. a single track?

Reason why I ask is that I have at 00:29 sim time, 5G79S sitting in the carriage washer waiting for the right away to go to Platform 2 but also have 5T20 sitting in Platform 2 waiting to go into the carriage washer. Both arrivals and departures clash. Yes I do realise that both have early departure facility but that does not help and it looks like a Mexican stand off unless I route 5G79S through Platform 1 and then reverse into Platform 2 from Signal 638 or just into Platform 1 and reverse into the carriage sidings from there via Signal 358.

I have just run this through and routing 5G79S into Platform 1 resolves the situation and the shunter does then phone up allowing 5G79S into the carriage sidings as should happen from Platform 1.

Sorry to be such a pain in asking this question but 5V90S is shown as being a 4 car Class 104. Were the Class 104's still being used at this period.

Good to see so many people writing to this topic. That to me means a lot of people are enjoying this timetable.....good one.

Northroad in answer to your question regarding the 'washer' road, yes it is. However it will easily fit 12 cars. At the beginning of the timetable two Cl.5s are booked into the washer road. One 8 car set & one 4 car set. Yes they will both fit in there. The only thing you are restricted on is when shunting from the washer road back into the station. P1A will only cater a 4 car set, if you have an 8 car set then you need to use either P1 or P2. Yes DMUs were still in use at this time. It wasn't until post 1993 that they started seeing sprinter units on the Bedford - Bletchley services. For a period in the mid to late 1990s 2 or 3 Mk.2 coaches were used with Cl.31/4s top n tailed whilst waiting for the Sprinter units to be cascaded from elsewhere. There is a Network South East website which gives details of all the rolling stock used by NSE.

I was waiting for one of those dmus to come out of the washer before sending another it didn't seem likely to be a place to keep two sets.

The only trains that used the washer are EMUs(Cl.319s) not DMUs. The only other train that goes onto the washer road is the Northampton - Leeds parcels after running round its train in Bedford St. Johns Goods Loop the train then propels into P1 & then goes forward into the washer road & propels back out onto the rear of the St. Pancras - Leeds parcels in the early evening. None of the DMUs IIRC are timetabled to go into the washer. You can keep 2 sets in the washer road. 5G79S is an 8 car set & that goes into the washer & is tt'd to stay there for some time as another 4 car unit terminates at Bedford in P2 & that goes into the washer road on top of the 8 car that's already in there. That s4et is 5T20 which is formed off 2T20S. 5T20 then comes out 1st into p1a to await the call from the Bedford CS shunter, followed immediately behind it by routing 5G79S into P2 also for Bedford CS. That's the only time there should be 2 different units in the washer road at the ssame time. The DMUs are cleaned & maintained at Bletchley TMD not at Bedford.

Indeed it is. No seriously I've got a photo somewhere of the Northampton - Leeds parcels on the washer road waiting to drop onto the back of the 1603 St. Pancras - Leeds parcels. That's what actually happened in real life. I'll post the picture on the forum when I get the hard drive out of the old PC where the photo is.

I've had to sacrifice trains to the delay god as well. Sorting out Bedford, especially with delays on, is amazing fun. Well done, 58050!

Yes, the overlap of 481 extends over the junction.

Same here. Thought it was just me. This is a nice timetable, already in my top 10.

Edit : not knowing the land why is moorgate gone in the later years it seems like a sizeable bit of railway into a fairly busy place. Did it make that much difference ?

Presumably increasing the number of through Thameslink trains was preferred over continuing service to Moorgate - you'd be hard pressed to wedge in a Moorgate service on the current Thameslink service pattern! Additionally, the platforms at Farringdon now extend over the former junction.

Maybe the two of you may wish to get involved in the testing of the King's Cross 1985 timetable as you seem to prefer the older era timetables as opposed to the present eras, something I ceertainly do, which as I said before should start next Monday subject to when Kev is available to start hosting on Monday.

As Danny252 said, Farringdon station was extended to take 12-car trains, which blocked the junction. The Circle/H&C/Metropolitan lines run parallel, so it's still relatively easy to get to Moorgate/Barbican by changing at Farringdon.

I thought this issued had been resolved. I think someone posted something about this earlier in this thread & I explained what to do to resole this. In any event it's a bit of an anomaly this one as it varies from a Monday & the rest of the week.
Mondays[b]
2T00 0510 Norwood Jct - Bedford is shown to be worked by a 4 car Cl.319 in 867 diagram. This train arrives at Bedford at 0655 & forms part of 2W03 0704 Bedford - Three Bridges worked by 868/867 diagrams.
2O21 0537 Sutton - Bedford is shown as an 8 car set on MO, 838/837 diagrams which on arrival at Bedford form
2C77 0744 Bedford - St. Pancras is worked by an 8 car Cl.319 837/838 diagrams all week.

[b]Tues - Fri

2T00 0510 Norwood Jct - Bedford is shown as an 4 car set, 838 diagram
2O21 0537 Sutton - Bedford is a 4 car set, 837 diagram. these 2 trains JOIN together in P3 to form
2C77 0744 Bedford - St. Pancras which IIRC should be formed off 2O21 & 5C77 from Bedford CS

That's what should happen on paper anyway. But there maybe something I've missed which is obviously causing an issue. I'll take another look at it when I've finished with King's Cross 1985 timetable, unless someone can resolve the issue before I get back to it.
Apologies to all for this out-standing issue.

Sorry Pascal i think we are at crossed purposes 2O21 & 2T01 join perfectly in P3 at Bedford, all i was saying is that in F4, 2C77 has the departure platform as P1 but the 2 trains join up in P3 so that should be the departure platform as well. It is only a typo. Sorry for the grief

Thank God for that, but IIRC on a Monday 2C77 departs from P1 as it is formed of a 4 car set from Bedford CS & another 4 car set which has terminated at Bedford. I thought I was going to have to go through this one again.

One other thing I've found so far: All Class 319 workings have the "Use freight linespeeds" checkbox ticked. I assume this was a mistake, although currently it doesn't make any difference because the only differential speed limits of interest (around Kentish Town in the up direction only) are missing from the sim.
Two million people attempt to use Birmingham's magnificent rail network every year, with just over a million of them managing to get further than Smethwick.

The reason why that was ticked in the train types for those Cl.319s was due to them also working over the Goods Lines at Cricklewood Depot. Don't forget I started writing this timetable for Geoff several months before the sim was released & it wasn't ready when the sim was released.
