I will happily pay for sims including sims that were donationware that have been updated. However I would only purchase sims that are in someway relevant to me in either my personal or work life, if that doesn't make me "a true fan of SimSig" as suggested on the first page I quite frankly couldn't care less.

The one thing that puts me off though is the restriction on the number of licenses and in these times where people have a permanent system at home as well as a mobile system, one license imo isn't enough but I guess thats a slightly different argument.

The License Manager allows you to easily remove/add licenses from/to a given machine, provided an internet connection is available.

Yes provided a connection is available and provided you remember to do it. I still consider it all a bit of a faff though.

I agree with you GB a home and laptop licence installed simultaneously would not seem to be unduly harmful to the 'profitability' of sims.

You'd still need an internet connection and some sort of database check to verify there is only one user per licence at any time to avoid abuse of the system, so you're almost back to square one.
