I had to completely reinstall Windows recently so I did a fresh Win 10 install on my hard drive. I'm still getting stuff back on that I use and downloaded the new SimSig system files today. But when I try to run loader even as an administrator it says "SimSig system files not found download from the SimSig website. I am totally confused with this. Any ideas ?

Did you reinstall SimSig, or have you run SimSig from a copy and paste from the previous installation?

Completely fresh install. Everything got wiped on the Win reinstall

Did you run the SimSig system file program after downloading it?

Yes Andy. I've got the loader and license. License works ok but loader keeps coming up with the above message

I have the same problem with XP but EXEs still work. Played KX EXE with no problems.

Tried re-installing by right clicking and running as administrator but still the same message - SimSig system files not installed

If you go into Notepad/Wordpad or some other text editing program, can you change the font to SimSigV2 (ie is it listed)?

Where do I find the file ? Sorry for sounding dumb but I've never come across this particular problem before. I have nothing in the My Games folder in documents so I manually created a SimSig folder there. I've looked in C:\Program Files (x86)\SimSig but I'm not sure what to look for

There is a SIMSIG and SIMSIGRT listed but not SimSigV2

Doesn't seem to be an AV problem. I uninstalled Norton and ran setup again. Still the same message SimSig installation files not found

Uninstall Norton, reboot, uninstall SimSig, reboot, install SimSig (ensure you have admin rights), see what happens then?

I've done a bit of searching on the Forum and others have had the same problem a number of times in the past (for example see this thread). A fix that sometimes works is to delete all of the SimSig fonts then re-run the system files installer. Sometimes the link between the fonts and the SimSig loader gets broken and taking out all of the fonts then re-installing may revive the link.

Thanks. Ok I deleted the 3 SimSig fonts I could find and reinstalled but still the same. Could someone e-mail me the font files to see if that will fix it. Like the guy in the other thread I can't get past the error message Last edited: 02/05/2016 at 21:16 by moonraker Log in to reply |

Many thanks to postal who e-mailed me the fonts. For some strange reason I had 2 missing. Now working fine. Thanks for all the replies and help
