Joining train got lost *RESOLVED* 06/05/2016 at 16:08 #82170

Hi all,

I'm currently working on a Wimbledon/Feltham timetable, however I am having an issue with joining trains.
2U04 and 2U06 are booked to join on Waterloo platform 19 to form 2U09. However, the analysis reports that both 22U04 and 2U06 "got lost". I have searched the wiki for this and it suggests that this means there is an invalid timetable. However, having validated both schedules, the system says they are both valid with no errors found, so I am rather stumped and thus any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks,
Jamie.

It usually means that both trains aren't on the same platform. So for example 2U04 might be on platform 12 but 2U06 is on 19.
"Passengers for New Lane, should be seated in the rear coach of the train " - Opinions are my own and not those of my employer

Got lost is usually when you have two trains that join, and both have a next working.

e.g. train A has J:B,N:C
and train B has J:A,N:C

Obviously both trains can't form C as only one will exist after the join. Usually the warning can be ignored, but for cleanliness it's better to only put the N: on one side of the join.

Thanks Karl, however I've checked this and I can confirm all three trains are booked to use platform 19 and it's still throwing up that error. So as of now, I'm pretty stumped.

No it doesn't, that would be the "joining train is on another platform" warning.

Aha! Removing the N:2U09 from 2U04 has now cleared the error. Thanks for your help!

Don't think it matters, just as long as the order is logical.

A can join B Next C; or
B can join A Next C; or
A next C then C join B

and so on.
