This may have been highlighted before, but I couldn't find it.

I do not work IECC however I am qualified in WestCad. So not sure if this applies on IECC, but in WestCad, when an Auto Signal is used to protect a level crossing, or anything else, the Signaller will replace the Auto Signal to Danger using the replacement facility and would place a reminder appliance on the replacement facility, not the signal. This is because it is the replacement facility that holds the signal at danger not the signal itself.

In Simsig, a reminder appliance can be placed on the auto signal but not on the replacement, so the Simsig Signaller could inadvertently operate the replacement to clear the signal, leading to an incident.

I know Simsig is only a game, but it is meant to simulate reality.

Retired Professional Railwayman (1981-2023); Pway & S&T (1981-88); Former Signalman/Signaller/ Signalling Trainer (1989-2023) [AB, TCB, Mechanical, NX, WestCad, Hitachi SARS]; Railway Historian (esp.SER, LCDR); Member of The Permanent Way Institution..

You can put reminders on the ERS:

Click Reminder (top of the screen), then click on the ERS you wish to place the reminder on.

EDIT: also, as per real IECCs - a collared, inactive ERS can still be used to replace a signal to danger

Thanks JamesN. Always learning on Simsig!

The other day I was going to give up SimSig because I was finding a clash with work. Namely, right clicking a signal brought up a drop down menu in Simsig, but at work replaced a signal to danger. However I discovered I had an option to change this in the options menus to right clicking replaces the signal to danger.

I really need to read the Manuals lol.

In fact, regardless of what you have that option set to, in loader sims at least, you can hold shift while right-clicking to get the opposite behaviour that you normally get.
