For the people who read this post and thought "damn.. I hoped the solution was also in here": You have to make sure the train has come to a stand in Bedwyn and the overlap from R862 to R864 timed out. So: either uncheck the auto-button on R862 before the train passes it, or cancel the route from R862 to R864 after the train passed R862.
