Thanks for your help!

You need to install some simulations. Clicking 'Check for Updates' will install a handful of the latest simulations, the rest can be found in the Downloads area. I would also suggest that you read the appropriate sections of the Wiki
"Don't stress/ relax/ let life roll off your backs./ Except for death and paying taxes/ everything in life.../ is only for now." (Avenue Q)

Sorry but scenarios are not seperate from the sim

Scenarios are part of a sim, they can range from perfect, easy/beginner to Hard, lines or platform closures, and bad wether, they all vary from sim to sim, some sims do not have any scenario options to select.

Sim developers will include various scenarios or none at all, it all depends on the developer

I sense here what is meant is either A-) Downloading simulations, or B-) Adding timetables, possibly for the simulations available via the Check for Updates which don't necessarily have a timetable with them.

Some sims available via check for updates don't have a timetable with them, and as such will need to be downloaded via the the downloads area as Steamer indicates
