I'm trying to run a simulation however when i open a simulation up there are no trains present, what am i doing wrong ?

You need to select a timetable when you start the simulation. Which simulation are you playing?

Most sims do not show any trains at the start. You need to run the sim for a number of minutes for them to appear. You can check if a timetable is present by clicking on Timetable in the menu.
