Windows 10 Install Problem 18/05/2017 at 23:45 #95197

Hi. I need some help. I've installed the uploader on windows 10 (with admin privileges). All went well but when I did the automatic update I got "File does not exist on server" errors. It seems all of the sim folders were created on my PC under" c:\users\public\public documents\SimSig\Simulations" but they are all empty.

Also, if I try to log into to the license manager using my simsig website ID and password, it says 'failed to connected to server'

Thanks in advance.

I suspect your anti virus and or firewall is blocking the connections to the SimSig server.

Thanks. I turned off the McAfee firewall and tried again with no luck. I don't think it's an antivirus problem. I checked the log of things blocked and it was all google and amazon !

Have you ticked the correct Folder options in the Loader?

This may not be related to your specific issue Lt_Dan as you appear to be using McAfee, but since I have had various connection problems after a recent large Windows 10 update I thought it's worth sharing.

After the Windows update a couple of weeks ago I had quite a few issues with various games and programs requiring internet access, including the SimSig Loader 'Check for Update' and License Manager.
I eventually narrowed it down to the Windows firewall - for some reason Windows had added identical rules up to four times for many of my applications in the Inbound Rules list (can be found under advanced settings in Windows firewall).
After deleting all the SimSig rules on the list, the Loader and License Manager now function properly again.

Sidestick P: It seems you were right. I went into settings and searched for "firewall" and selection an option "Allow an app through windows firewall." I had to browse to each applcation in c:\Programs(x86)\SimSig and I was able to download all of the sims and set up the license manager. I ended up changing no settings on MCAfee.

So I think I'm good. Thanks for your help.

Dan
