Just clicked on check for updates and loader mysteriously created all new folders on a totally different drive ( C: ) and downloaded every simulation to these new folders instead of checking and updating my long time installation drive ( F: ).
Has anyone else experienced this. I have had to uninstall everything manually.

The loader will install updates to whichever location is at the top of your folder options list. If you want them to go to a specific place you need to rearrange the order.

What are your folder options settings?

You should be able to drag the files from where they ended up to where you wanted them to be without having to uninstall anything.

I put all of my SimSig stuff into 2 bespoke locations rather than the default folders. On at least one occasion the two bespoke locations have been wiped from the list without any input or action on my part or any system files update. I didn't get any "New" flash on the main loader window when I fired up but I couldn't see any sims when I clicked to start a new game. Took me a few moments of panic before I worked out what had happened. Manually restored the bespoke locations and everything went back to normal.

Sorry I cant check, as I said I had to delete everything in order to make sure no stray thing was left behind. I am a bit paranoid about malware etc. I vaguely recall seeing some list somewhere in the loader with a few items in it which started with csid or something similar but as these were similar looking to registry type variables I left them alone.
My plan is to just start from scratch provided there were no warnings on this site.
As it seems there is nothing sinister happening, just one of those things, I feel more confident.
