As a newcomer , I don't understand how you release trains at Aberdare , Rhymney and Treherbert ( with the lever frames ? ). I have looked at the simulation guide for this sim. but cannot find or at least understand it. I would be grateful if somebody could point me in the right direction. Many Thanks

General guidance on how to operate lever frames is on this page.

Operation at Rhymney and Treherbert is complicated by the token machines, but the principle is the same.

Taking Rhymney as an example:

1. The train will enter the simulation at the DMU sidings.
2. Open Rhymney North lever frame window (show-> Lever Frames-> Rhymney North
3. Give the handsignal (lever 4) to allow the train into the headshunt
4. On arrival at the headshunt, the driver will phone for permission to withdraw a token. Give permission.
5. The Ground Frame can now be released- click the circle under the letter 'F'.
6. Operate the ground frame to let the train into the platform- you'll need to click the 'token lock', move lever 1 down (releases Facing Point Lock), lever 2 down (sets points to platform), lever 1 back up (lock FPL) then handsignal 5.
7. The train will arrive in Rhymney platform. Put all the levers back where they were (Reverse the lever sequence in (5)) and lock the lever frame by right clicking the button under the letter 'F'.
8. Job done.

Treherbert is a bit simpler as the train comes direct out of the sidings, Aberdare even more so as there isn't a token instrument to worry about.

A handy tip with Rhymney is to keep lever 4 off - the frame doesn't need to be released for this. That way you won't miss any trains waiting to leave the siding, as they will call in from the headshunt when they are ready to use the frame.
