Unable to log into License Manager 23/08/2018 at 04:47 #111402

I have just done a refresh on my PC. Reinstalled Windows, Simsig, other programs etc. I have reset all my internet settings to what they were prior to the refresh and I am unable to log into the licence manage on the Simsig loader. I keep getting the "Failed to connect to server message". I have also read back through the forum for other users having the same issue and tried the fixes suggested in the other threads to no avail.

I have requested an unlock on my purchased sims as a precaution as well.

Cheers.

Cheers, Squeak

If you can tell us what you have tested that will save people giving a list of helpful ideas that you have already tried.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled loader and license manager
Allowed both on firewall
Adjusted internet settings to what they were prior to reboot
Released the licenses from the machine
Updated sims etc through the Loader

I have not used port forwarding and would prefer not too

Running Windows 8

Cheers, Squeak

Port forwarding is not required for the license manager.

Had the same 'cannot log on to server' on 26th when hoping to release a license to use 'mobile'.
Did not try much, just gave up for now.

That was on a WinXP SP3 machine, there is a related thread about whether that can now work license manager.
Can it ?

Honestly Bill I'm not sure, I'm away from home at the moment so can't set something up to test.

I will say this however, Windows XP is out of date, and unsupported, you really should consider an upgrade as you aren't secure using it on the web.

Not to worry, I am away too so can't test anything on the XP machine either.
However this PC (W7-64) can get to license manager OK so it is not my account.

As for changing OS - I also use some vital software that is XP only.
Going dual boot or KVM switch is a last resort.

Bill
