Whilst playing the Derby 2015 Weekday timetable which starts at midnight, I’ve received quite a number of phone calls from Saltley PSB asking me whether or not to accept trains early or if I want them held until their scheduled time.

I now have a train which I have despatched very early and is heading for Saltley PSB territory. I thought that I would give them a courtesy call and ask them whether they wanted to accept it. However, there doesn’t appear to be this option.
It feels a bit rude just to send it without advising them, or is it just normal procedure to do so.

Come to think of it, this sort of thing occurs in other sims if my memory serves me correctly (althought it doesn't always do so).
What happens in the real world?

What happens in the real world?
Derby West Panel did often ring Saltley with early running freights because the deciding factor (especially if the margin was a bit tight) was whether or not the driver signed the Kingsbury slows. This would be ascertained if/when the driver called in from the SPT either at Elford Loop or wherever else he was being held. If the answer was yes the signalman would ring Saltley, offer the train and tell the Saltley North man that the dvr signed the Kingsbury slows, then it was up to him whether to say yes or no. If Derby offered a train without already having been able to speak to the driver, Saltley would often say "only if he signs the Kingsbury slows". If we didn't know for sure the train got looped.
