Hi,

Until now I've only played on freeware sims but I am considering buying the Rugby South.

Is there really any difference between freeware and payware sims?

I travel a lot in work and therefore use both a laptop and a desktop computer. Can I have a payware sim installed on two computers? This works well with freeware sims.

There aren’t any feature differences - both “free” and “payware” sims run off the same core program. The updater software should be able to download a short, time-limited demo of any sim available through loader. Demo sims normally show up pink in the loader program.

You can install the software on as many machines as you like, however you only pay for one license. This can be transferred between machines using the license manager tool - so when you’ve say, finished playing on your laptop; you can use license manager to release the license from your laptop, then go onto your desktop and claim the license on your desktop and play on your desktop.

You can have any sim installed on both, however you can only allocate the license to 1 PC at a time, you would use license manager to allocate or unallocate the license as needed, so if at home you can set the license to the desktop and use it on that, if you are going away use license manager to unallocate from the desktop and use license manager on the laptop to allocate to the laptop and on returning home just unallocate from the laptop.

There is no limit on the number of times you can unallocate and allocate a license

Just remember to unallocate it from your home machine before you leave. If it is allocated to your home machine once you are away you will only be able to unallocate it so that it can be re-allocated to your laptop by requesting one of the mods to make the change and too many requests like that will not be welcome.
