Have you tried searching our PC for the file? Is it plausible you're not saving it in the directory SimSig is expecting the timetables to be in?

Can you confirm that you're going to 'Timetable' (above and to the right of the simulation clock) and then 'Save As'?

I'm leaning towards this, too. If you go File -> Save As then that saves the simulation including the timetable. If that is what you did then when you start SimSig, select Load a Previously Saved Simulation and your timetable will be there.

Just to clarify, 'braders_97' should then save the timetable in the manner I described. The timetable should then appear in the list of timetables available when starting a new simulation.

One important thing to keep in your mind. When you are running a sim, there is a copy of the timetable held in the sim data. This copy is saved in the sim data if you save the game.

There is another copy of the TT on your hard disk if you have used Timetable > Save As. However, if you have not done that there is no separate copy of the TT on your hard disk so no TT to pick up when you open a new run of the sim.

Because there are two copies of the TT (one on your disc and one in the sim) it is easy to get them out of sync and possibly lose some valuable edits. You have to bear in mind:

1) If you edit the TT then save the sim but don't save the TT, loading a new game from the TT on your disc will lose your edits. You have go back to your last saved game and re-load it to get your edits.
2) If you edit and save the TT then close the sim without saving the .ssg file, re-loading the sim from your last save will give you a run without your TT edits. If you then save the TT you have over-written your edits and lost them forever.

The only safe way to keep the data in sync while you are TT writing or editing is to save both sim and TT before exiting. That way, loading a saved game or a new game with the saved TT will give you the same TT rather than risking getting out of sync and losing some valuable TT additions or edits.

Can you help us by telling us what steps you take to save things, please.

On the one hand you're saying the file doesn't exist; on the other hand you're saying it loads... those statements are not compatible.

I wonder if you're pressing the Save button in the F4 dialogue without actually selecting any trains to save. I could see the confusion if that is the case (it's a brand new feature so there are bound to be learning issues).

You need to make sure the tt editor window is closed before you save the timetable.
