Sorry if this has been mentioned before but the train types for the following trains 4M18/4C58/4C62/4M14/4M18/6C07/6C87/6C89 are shown to be hauled by class 92 locomotives.

Class 92 locomotives however are not permitted to operated under thier own power on the central division

Why is this?

Everything that you make will be useful - providing it's made of chocolate.

I’m sure Lagertoe can confirm - but as far as I’m aware it’s power supply issues. The power supplies on the Chunnel Freight routes from Dollands Moor to Wembley were upgraded especially for the 92s (which are very power-hungry) but those via Godstone, Redhill, Croydon to the WLL were not. So Dollands - Wembley & beyond via Redhill workings are always Diesel-hauled.

I may be wrong, but I'm sure I read in one of the rags that no freight out of Dollands Moor is 92 hauled (probably with the exception of anything that may go via HS1), but that the issue was somewhere like Mitre Bridge Junction. I think I remember reading it was due to a 92 sitting down on the China Clays and not playing any more in the middle of the morning peak due (possibly power draw issues starting on a gradient?).

It is power supply issues on the Redhill - Tonbridge line and signalling equipment was not upgraded to prevent interference from them.

DB's class 92's as far as i am aware have had all their DC equipment removed.

You may see a GB 92 between occasionally but this is rare these days
As AlexH says they struggle on the gradient to North Pole Jn where they change over from DC to AC. Last Autumn GB operated the China Clay service Cl.66 hauled with the Cl.92 D.I.T with the Cl.92 taking over from Wembley under the wires
