Just playing this TT, noticed that both 1L071 and 1L072 enter even though they should be mutually exclusive. (Save attached for reference.)

Edit: another bug, 2C452 has passing time ticked at Taunton.

2C45 duly noted.

I dont know why you have both 1L071 and 1L072 enter at the same time. The rule is there. I have tried about a dozen times tonight to replicate this, and I only ever had one or the other enter (as it should be). Never had this problem when testing either.

I can't reproduce this on a fresh start either.

the only thing I can think is the rule prevents 1L072 running if 1L071 runs, but as 2 entered first 1 hadn't so the rule didn't trigger?

For these I'd either use the mutually exclusive rule, or normally I now use decisions instead of rules.

EDIT:I have now managed to create the duplication. It happens if you use the Bad Weather scenario. 1L022 does indeed behave in the way you suggest, as there is no contra rule.

Ive tried both mutually exclusive and a decision and that solves the problem.

I haven't seen that happen before even with other timetables and it doesn't go with the "Laws of precedence".
I have tended not to use mutually exclusive in the past, because I often found it didn't work. I have been using the decisions more, so that, as you say, may be better.
What you need to remember is that except in the simplest scenarios any train entering may have a random delay imposed on it by the core code before it enters. If you only have a single rule that Train B must not run if Train A runs then a random delay holds Train A back until after Train B has entered then both trains will enter because the requirement for only one to run has not been completely specified. It is the lack of a complete specification rather than the "Laws of precedence" (whatever they might be) which causes the problem when only a single rule is used. Mutually exclusive rules work fine but get very complicated if more than two trains are involved which may be a reason that all the options are not always properly covered and some applications of mutually exclusive rules do not work. If you search the Forum there are some long and arcane topics about MutEx and "are alternative" rules which are really no longer relevant now that we have Clive's decision module.

The Decisions module makes it easier to set up linked trains some of which have a greater chance of entering by a simple adjustment to the weighting rather than trying to work out a suitable percentage as part of a bigger picture. Adding a "Null" choice means it is easy to configure the option of not having any train from a group entering.

Thanks Postal.

Having tried the Bad weather scenario,I noted that there was a lack of contra rule which caused the behavior as both you and jc92 mentioned.

Ive amended this with a decision and this works fine.Ill have to modify my other timetables.

Thanks!

I see 1C84 is scheduled to use platform 3 instead of 4 (conflicting with 5F17 which crosses the same set of points into platform 1), is this intentional?

No.Its supposed to be plt 4. Some services on odd weekends did use 3 instead of 4 ,and a couple of them ,Ive used the actual rather than booked platform. As this timetable is supposed to be the booked rather than the actual,a couple Ive found uncorrected.1C79 and 1C98 are booked into 3.The others should be 4.
I've amended these.

Makes sense. It's surprisingly busy for a Sunday timetable, also because of St James Park reversers. I have come to about 17:00 so far and it seems to be working well otherwise.

One more remark: 2C87's entry time seems to be rather early (17 minutes between entry and arrival at Taunton, as opposed to 12 for other 2C's). Is this prototypical or a typo?

As per the WTT. (2017/2018 Bridgwater,2030 pass Cogload Jn and 2035 arrival at Taunton).

There is a 5 minute pathing allowance at Bridgwater and a further 1 minute engineering allowance at Cogload Jn.

Looking at yesterdays real time data for example:

On time departure at Bridgwater
5 early passing Cogload
6 early arrival at Taunton.

6J842 is scheduled to go from the Dock Sdg to platform 3 via Norton Fitzwarren. This move is not possible, some possible solutions:
- reverse at Wellington E633
- reverse at Taunton West (or the Goods Rec or Norton Fitzwarren) and Taunton East
- use platform 2 instead

This should have been corrected ,as I found this when testing. Looks like I didn't save the correction !
Now corrected (West to East and then Plt 3).
