Hello Folks Probably a newbie-sort of question that hopefully someone can guide me on: I've downloaded the user-contributed Stafford 1994 timetable (located here: https://www.SimSig.co.uk/File/Index/21 ) As its in the old 2-file format, I've just learned how to merge the timetable from within the sim, save under a new file name and it successfully populates the simplifier and Rules tab in the timetable edit function, so all good there. Problem is, when I run the sim, despite the timetable being properly loaded, no trains spawn anywhere. I've tried analysing the timetable and get a long list of 388 warnings, here's the first few examples: ** ANALYSIS SUMMARY *** Errors (0): Warnings (388): 0D04[1.1]: Never used at Stafford Royal Mail 0D14[2.1]: Never used at Stafford Royal Mail 0D16[3.1]: Never used at Stafford Royal Mail 0D20[4.1]: Never used at Stafford Royal Mail 0E60[5.1]: Never used at Madeley 0F15[6.1]: Never used at Penkridge 0G08[7.1]: Never used at Stafford Royal Mail 0G10[8.1]: Never used at Stafford Royal Mail 0G12[9.1]: Never used at Stafford Royal Mail 0G14[10.1]: Never used at Stafford Royal Mail 0K17[11.1]: Never used at Madeley 0K50[12.1]: Never used at Madeley 0K67[13.1]: Never used at Stafford Royal Mail 0K90[14.1]: Never used at Stone 0Z00[15.1]: Never used at Madeley 0Z04[16.1]: Never used at Penkridge 0Z13[17.1]: Never used at Stone 0Z15[18.1]: Never used at Rugeley Trent Valley 0Z21[19.1]: Never used at Tamworth (Low Level) ... and so on. From the list of headcodes it appears to list every train in the timetable, which suggests something is wrong somewhere. Can anyone help me with getting this to work please? Unfortunately, the timetable in question was written on a very old version of the simulation. The simulation was extensively re-written (probably about 5 years ago now) to add various features (the most obvious being the Rugeley Town section of the panel), which required timetables to be re-written to suit it. Judging by the errors posted, it looks like the entry points for trains have been lost. For instance, 0E60 should have it's entry point set to Crewe. The entry time may have survived, if not it will need to be estimated. Some trains (for instance those at Stafford Royal Mail) will be showing an error because the train that references them never enters. For instance, if 0D04 is a run-round, and the train the loco detaches from never enters, this will cause the error shown. Thanks for the really quick reply. Okay no worries then - if its simply a no-longer compatible timetable then I won't waste time trying to make it work. Is there an easy way to identify timetables that are too old to run on SimSig in its up to date form? Or is it just a case of 'try it and see'. Kind regards Log in to reply |

In the case of Stafford, anything uploaded pre-March 2014 is dud.
