In a recent topic, it was suggested that to overcome connectivity issues that it is a good idea to lock the simulation in license manager. With Loader V5.xxxxx i thought this had been discontinued.

So is it now the case that simulations can't be locked to a single machine anymore, and a dodgy internet connection could make SimSig effectively useless?

The attached screenshot shows the information from the 'My Licenses' section of the 'My Account' screen which may answer the query.

Not quite.

Click on Start a new simulation and you'll get your list of sims to choose from. Now simply right click on one and you'll notice you have the option to Lock license to this machine.

The license manager is a thing of the past.
