I do not know why or how, but for some reason every sim I click on is fully playable even though I don't own the licence for it. It shows as yellow signal with the box stating I don't own the licence, but when I load in to the sim it doesn't show the demo time remaining or when the demo is complete. It also works even when I am logged out. I am on the latest version of SimSig and have uninstalled and reinstalled it to see if it would resolve itself. I'm going to see if deleting the SimSig folder resolves the bug in the meantime. And no I did not hack SimSig, I don't have the knowledge and I despise such actions immensely. Log in to reply |

All sims have a demo mode, which allows you to play them for a short while.

Is this with the simulation running (not paused)? as the demo timer only runs when the simulation is running.

The demo timer is based on the simulation clock, you can play until 00:15 if you started at 00:00.

I have noted on Loader 15.2.7, that a demo sim will play for 15 minutes of real time, as opposed to 15 sim minutes, if the Server cannot be contacted due to DNS resolution failure. I have not however been able to make an unlicensed sim run beyond that. Yes the simulation is running, but it doesn't run a demo version of the sim as it believes I have a licence when I don't. I've attached some images to better explain what is happening 1. Could you try a demo-mode locked feature? For example, go to the menu, hover over "File" and select "Save as...". This might help narrow down whether it's not running in demo mode at all, or that it's not timing demo mode progress correctly. If a file saves, attaching it to your post might help as well. I might be grasping the wrong end of a stick here, but I tried the new Doncaster North the other day, and it was definitely based on real minutes, and I turned the speed up and played until the sim clock was showing about 00.25/00.26 based on a real 15 minutes.

While I'm sure your answer was terribly witty (though rather unhelpful), I was replying to this post by Albert. It seems I was mistaken and it is indeed real time, not sim time, that the demo timer is based on. I do remember as well that a demo message appeared at the start of a demo game in earlier versions to explain the conditions. AJP in games Log in to reply |
