Is there a masterplan behind the sims? 01/04/2022 at 17:56 #145985

Hi all,

I'm enjoying the surprise release of sims and user-created TTs for older sims that I haven't played in a while immensely: once again, the devs come up trumps!

However, just a quick and genuine question if I may: there have been a few sims released over the years that currently appear to be completely 'standalone' in the truest sense: no chains are available at all such as Penzance and the latest Slough panel which I'll buy this weekend.

Is the ultimate idea that, one day, we'll have a joined up chain from say, Paddington / Slough to Penzance (and other regions too of course), or is it just a case of our awesome team of devs picking a sim for which they have data and get cracking on with it?

I hope this is taken in the way I intended: a genuine open question as I enjoy SimSig immensely and look forward to any new sims, whatever they may be

Cheers,
Joe

A little bit of (a) and a little bit of (b). Yes, we have kind of earmarked certain areas for certain devs, but we do also need to have a good set of data for those areas. Also, for newer devs we like to ease them in gently so Penzance was a good starting point; similar for Slough. Coincidentally for both those two, the devs also knew the area intimately from living, working, commuting, or whatever.
