Is there a way to use Dudley loops 'properly'? Trains on the down that are looped then get signalled straight out the other side. Likewise on the up, how do I get the 6C44 to go into the loop? Post has attachments. Log in to view them. Log in to reply |

When I was testing my summer 1990 TT for Birmingham New Street there was an EDMU that was booked to run from Stafford to Soho DED & according to the WTT it was booked to recess in Dudley Loop for approx. 30 mins before moving onto the Goods Line at Soho North Jn. I raised it once with Geoff & you can't control the entry to the loops from the New Street sim on the Up Stour, that's done from the Wolverhampton sim. On the Down Stour the entry to the loop is hollow track & IIRC that governed from the New Street sim.

On the down don’t worry about it as it’s going away. On the up, adjust the entry time to somewhere near the time it is booked out of the loop and it’ll enter in the right order. Log in to reply |

I understand the issues of simulating loops completely off sim (eg. Elford and Arksey), but would be useful to use the Up loop, eg. for recessing trains for the Oil sidings.
