Route set too early. Can I call the train and tell the driver I'd like to change the signal? 01/01/2023 at 10:02 #149864

Hello,

As the topic say, I have set a route way too early for a train and its route is now blocking other trains. Can I do something to avoid having the driver complaining by the necessary aspect change. The strange thing is that he will not make the call until 20 minutes later when it is his scheduled departure time... This makes for two penalties in the scoring... One for the change of aspect, the other for delay.

I used to "reverse direction" then quickly cancel the route.

But it's NOT in the spirit of SimSig and it's just a moment to learn not to set the route until either TRTS is triggered or one minute before departure at non-TRTS locations

This often happens when a train has just left a depot and is about to reverse direction or stay at one location (not at a platform) for some time.

In those situations, where a train for sure does not contain passengers, is it possible to tell the train to depart early?

Such reversals that sit 'somewhere stupid' are timetable bugs, and can be fixed.

In the F4 timetable editor, set as 'stop-go' set down type, with an appropriate dwell if needed. That only fixes them for future runs / entries.

When running and one gets stuck, edit the live timetable from the F2 train list and set the timetable to the next location

As long as you cancel the route 10 mins or more before the scheduled departure time, you will not get penalised for it.

Thank you,

I'll try this.
