Greetings all, Some things relating to the valley lines network (CVL) north of Cardiff which I thought might be of interest. According to the CVL G5 document - link below - there will be a good deal of work on the valley lines during 2023 which is planned to involve energising of OLE as well as commissioning of new platforms and other infrastructure. The signalling diagrams are behind a separate link. Consultation document G5 suggests that, subject to any changes of plan, Valleys Radyr PSB and Abercynon PSB are scheduled to be abolished 29th April 2023. It is noticeable that the signals, whether given new prefixes or not (some are shown prefixed VR despite the closure of Valleys Radyr PSB) still only have three numbers despite the practice these days being to have four digits in the signal number. The documents are all consultation ones (recently closed) but give an idea of what is planned. Wonder if Network Rail authorised these to be published, Historically they've refused FOI requests on the grounds of National security. Peter I identify as half man half biscuit - crumbs! Log in to reply |
