Hi, get the message 02:03:02 Stewart Avenue: train passed with crossing open - this appears when setting the route over the crossing. No trains have yet approached....
Running Central Coast NSW 2011-10-23 TT - looks like SIM issue not TT.
This message has appeared every time a route is set over crossing - this is always received prior to gates being lowered

Which direction route is that mate? Up or down line? Or both?

Hi there, it happened for me too while I tried the simulation.
It happened on both lines.

EDIT: Oh, and interestingly I just noticed something else: When TORR option is activated, the barriers at Stewart Ave do lower automatically when setting a route (of course while getting the "train passed with barriers open"-penalty) on both lines. But when TORR is deactivated, the barrieres do not lower automatically when setting the route (but you still get the penalty). It all only happens at Stewart Ave, not at the other crossings.

I have found the cause and will hopefully have an update for this and a couple of other issues in the next couple of days.

Other issues found with v1.0 (to save people reporting them):
[38337] Overset shunt S127 at Sulphide can return to stop in front of a train in a specific circumstance
[38339] Islington Junction workstation not shown in the on-duty list in the new era
[38340] New era workstation boundary between Broadmeadow and Newcastle Panel incorrect (B286 belongs to Broadmeadow)
[38341] Signal 56.2 at Lisarow, phone calls go to the host instead of Gosford box

All of these are fixed and an update will be available soon. Thankyou for your support.

Hi,

When running the later version of the sim, when trains terminate at Newcastle interchange they form a different number but the old run stays current on the platforms. Not sure if I’m missing something or it’s a glitch. Cheers

In the 2008 era NH 103.3 at Civic seems to be misnumbered on the up main, not following the sequential numbering from earlier signals.

At St James Road is it normal for the signal overlap to hold down crossing gates?

Do you mean when the train arrives, how it leaves the old run number on the buffers and interposes the new run number at the signal? Testers seemed to prefer it that way when the sim was in development. Several UK sims do it this way too. Is it causing you any trouble?

You're right, that should be NH 103.84. Mantis 38361.

St James Road is protected by 3 signals on the down, B203, B207, B211. If the crossing is down and any of these signals have main routes set, it'll stay down. Probably has something to do with heavy trains coming down the descending grade from Tickhole Tunnels.

I just wasn’t sure if it will stop me from sending a train into the platform as it’s showing as occupied or a train in the platform. If it’s fine, I’m cool with it just wasn’t sure.
Also, you’ve probably mentioned somewhere but what does the blue arrow do just off Newcastle Interchange points?

From the manual:

Yeah the blue arrows are 'via' buttons - start>via>finish. They are provided as SimSig's answer to the 'set main special' button or command. In this case they allow you to set the non-preferred route from Platform 2 towards Hamilton, or from the set back shunt towards the platforms.

Hi all. Just checking to see if the signal diagram signal aspect indication is correct for Sig 5/10/14/18 (Newcastle 2011 ERA). Whenever you select a route into Platforms 1-4 where the platform is not occupied, a shunt signal aspect is displayed. In the real world, you would get a top green signal aspect with the platform number displayed on the route indicator. Thanks for developing an awesome simulation, I'm really enjoying operating it Cheers, Nathan.

Sounds like you're setting the route in 'two stages' from 5/10/14/18 to any of 21/28, 16/17/20, or 7/8/9 (A) and thence into one of the platforms.

It looks to me like the route just requires clicking on Signal 5/10/14/18 then the small grey arrow at the very very end of the appropriate platform.

Yes, just click the signal then the grey arrow.

To admit a second train to an occupied platform, hold Shift while setting the route in this manner (or you can set a combination of shunt signals manually)

Thanks for the quick reply. I knew it had to be something simple. As you both have suggested, I didn't need to select the intermediate shunting signals onto the platform
