Derby 1987-05-11 - 1987-10-04 SX

This thread is for discussion of the Derby 1987-05-11 - 1987-10-04 SX timetable.

This timetable has been written by 58050 using his vast local knowledge, and a wide range of resources he has collected over the years.

"Passengers for New Lane, should be seated in the rear coach of the train " - Opinions are my own and not those of my employer

Having fun with this one so far.

In the attached savegame (the day is Monday), could you please advise how to get 7Z10 (approaching Branston Jn) into Branston GF?

The timetable implies that it heads in direct, without any shunting about on sim, but there is no slot or route that can be given off the up main. Operation of the frame isn't mentioned in the manual.

Thanks!

After speaking to Karl when we did a Monday test with this timetable, that train 7Z10 never entered. There isn't a direct route from 95 signal direct to Branston GF. I will amend the TT data for that train so it will run from 95 signal via Birmingham Curve Jn & reverse at Drakelow East Junction to go back into the neck where you can then go into the siding controlled by Branston GF. This will be fixed for the next TT update. But glad you are enjoying it.

Loving the timetable so far - so nice to have a range of locomotives and HSTs

One teeny, TINY, miniscule thing. Slight typo on 5P26's description.

Nothing major - 5C06/5C060457 is missing a destination in the description.

After following the TT for 5E05/9E05/9P01 split and join, I had to manually shunt 9P01 into 9E05 to make the booked attachment.

Regarding the 9P01/5E05 issue you raise it's a known issue & if you read the TT manual it's highlighted in that what you need to do in bold letters.

9P01/$9P010440MX – Special Note

Looks like there is a rule missing. I have had 7T39/7T390750 0750 Mantle Lane - Leicester & 6T37/6T370750-56 0750 Mantle Lane - Bagworth both make an appearance.

Yeah had the same during the multi-player game. I just sent T37 out first & T39 followed it, but will look at that later. Thanks for the report Paul.

Not sure if it's a simulator or timetable issue, but I seem to be unable to replatform trains in some cases. I can't change the platform in the timetable, and at least for crew changes trains refuse to stop at another platform at Derby, instead just showing "waiting at signal xxx".

5C06 seems to be missing a rule as it's leaving Etches Park on time even though 0C06 was running about 20 minutes late and had just left 4 shed at the time.

Other than that, a very fine timetable indeed.

For any platform changes you'll need to ring the station supervisor at Derby to advise them.

The missing destination on 5C06 has been fixed for the next TT update. But if you want to fix it the destination for that train is Nottingham which you can put in on the Destination box in the misc tab & then save the TT.

Speaking of platform changes, I had train 1P03/1P030005MO appear on the Sim and couldn't work out for the life of me how it was meant to access P6 at Derby from the Spondon direction. Ended up routing it into P3 with the handy 'Call Station Supervisor' function

You signal the train from 422 signal at Way & Works Jn to P6. The train crosses over from the Down Line to the Up Line to gain access to the high numbered platforms.

Trains with UID 5E050935Q-A and 5E050935Q-B both entered one after another at Litchurch Lane and want the same path to Trent PSB - should there be a rule here?

Thanks for spotting this. I've just checked the rules & the Q-A rule is in, but the Q-B rule still has Q-A against each train, so effectively the rule is missing. Will edit the 2nd Q-A rule to show trains Q-B. Fixed for next release.

Needs Destination arrival too for 5C06, also 5P26 has destination spelt wrong eg Etcjes Park Sidings, should this be Etches Park Sidings?

Looks good so far though.

Both those items have been sorted already. 5C06's destination is Nottingham. All done for the next TT update.

For all those users running my Derby summer 1987 TT a quick note about 6T37 & 7T39 from Mantle Lane. Both trains are shown in the trip notice to depart Mantle Lane at 07.50. Trip Notices don't shown any timings other than the departure time from the originating location & the arrival time at the trips destination. Everything else in between is an unknown. Trip workings don't appear in WTTs either. So all users need to do is simply depart one of them first like 6T37 which goes to load at Bagworth Colliery & then send 7T39 out behind it. I did that during the current game & it worked fine. The driver on 7T39 didn't even come on the phone. Thes things happen in BR era timetables, they run completely different to modern era timetables where everything has its own booked path. I'm not prepared to change the departing time at Mantle Lane for either train its something users will need to get used to as those are the times shown in the Trip Notice.
