[TBASC] Norwood - West Croydon routing 03/06/2023 at 10:49 #152045

Greetings all,

I know some of you out there are probably wondering what the progress is on my Three Bridges ASC timetable based around the engineering works of Sunday 08th May 2022. After having to add in a number of extra trains I now have 1161 trains in the schedule and that means most, if not all, the trains are now written in. I think this is going to end up being the largest SimSig TT I have ever tried to build.

I just ran an error check and have 164 errors which, seeing as I didn't use the validation tool, I think is not bad considering the number of trains in the timetable. Also some warnings for lengths and train categories but I can fix those easily enough.

Anyway here is the question. In the timetable I am doing most, if not all, the services from Crystal Palace to West Croydon are booked for Platform 6 at Norwood Junction and all of these have come up with routing errors as I haven't specified the line codes. The trains heading to West Croydon need to cross from the Dn LB Slow onto the Dn Wallington in order to reach Gloucester Road Junction and thus West Croydon. If I use the TT validator then I get these options but- and I apologise if this is a daft question - does Dn Wallington still count as Dn Slow? The line codes used on RTT are DS (Down Slow) to DW (Dn Wallington).

In addition, as shown in the second image, some if not all trains from West Croydon to Norwood Junction are coming up with no path from Gloucester Road to Norwood Fork Jcn and again RTT uses line codes for both (UW to US). What is the best solution here please? Screenshots enclosed.

Dave

I believe this is because you are using Norwood Fork Junction as a timing point. Norwood Fork Junction isn't required because I'm under the impression that the junctions are the fast/slow line crossovers. These are not on the up/down Wallington lines. Might be my mistake but looking at the working timetable shows that they aren't actually timed there.

Hi Dave,

Sorry meant to reply before but IRL got in the way.

Looking at my 2012 tt for those from CP to WC, I used the following

Bromley Jcn
Norwood Jcn - Plat 6
Gloucester Rd Jcn - Path WL
West Croydon - Plat 4

Obviously it was written a while ago, but it validated ok
