I've noticed that when an 8 car 350 comes into South Parkway P2 that only one unit and a bit can fit, it can't fit the full length of the train and overhangs onto the points at Allerton Junction yet when an 8 car 350 is stopped at P2 in the sim the track section on the junction is clear and you can set a route. I've seen it IRL that the rear unit overhangs onto the points and checked the sim manual and that confirms that the length of P2 is 137m where an 8 car 350 is 164m. Seeing that the junction is immediately after the platforms it would make sense for the track circuit to be occupied, I've attached a picture that shows how close the points are to the platforms. I'm not in any way having a go, just thought it seems strange

The TC length in the sim is suspect- showing as 365m, a quick look on Google maps suggests something in the region of 145m to be more like it; even allowing for signals moving during resignalling 365m looks over the top.

From what I can remember the junction has always been immediately after the platforms so although it's an old sim like you say it does seem a bit strange
