Did those services operate at 75mph/80mph while staff were busy sorting the mail or did they operate at 95mph/100mph? I've seen WTTs which indicate 95mph running yet I've seen some that indicate 100mph running while others say 80mph. Was there a uniform speed for the TPOs both when carrying RM staff working onboard as well as when the sets were ECS running longer distances like Willesden to Bristol etc in the latter days of the TPOs eg 2000 onwards. I do know that the mail vans operated at 100mph for ECS services while operated at 90mph while in service. Log in to reply |
