I can successfully get this train from Biggleswade sidings to platform 4 at 09.06h and I can then set the route from signal K236 to K766 on the slow line to Hitchin, but the train consistently does not move from the platform and had disappeared from the train list

My situation seems to be a bit different. While the TD is in platform 4, the train itself, and the red TC occupation it generates, has run off back into the sidings. At a guess you gave it authority to move while still sat over the points - where it (incorrectly) stops as per the last post in the linked thread from HAP. The timetable needs editing to make the train clear the points, either a length edit or a stop location set to FX -20 Test timetable attached with that alteration Post has attachments. Yes, I have tested this version, and it works exactly as needed, 6L69 is now heading off towards Hitchin.

The TT used within the save provided is the 2003 TT and is currently a user contributed TT which doesn't have a project on Mantis. For this particular issue, the TT author will have to be contacted and the issued brought to their attention. @Postal, Please see @bill_gensheet comments.
